On October 10, 2017, at the age of 23, Chase Covington Taylor was tragically killed in an accident. This brought the Taylor family to an unfamiliar place, one of enormous pain and devastating heartache. While some people are defeated by their stories, losing hope, yet some can use their stories to become a catalyst for turning tragedy into positive change. Through her grief process, Cathy Taylor, Chase’s mother, established a 501c (3) non-profit. Cathy named the nonprofit Chase Right Choices, choosing to overcome the odds and use the loss of Chase to make a positive impact and a difference in this world. While on this earth, Chase loved people and thru this nonprofit, Chase’s legacy is still doing what he did best, loving people .

With that type of love in mind, Chase Right Choices has funded local scholarships, partnered with community organizations, and has established “Seabatical of Hope” Grief Retreat designed for mothers who have suffered the loss of a child. In October 2021, this first hope filled weekend helped to touch the lives of 20 mothers. It was a treasured weekend filled with Hope, special moments, fellowship with other grieving moms, and the love of Christ. Below are a few of the comments from Mother’s who attended this heart changing retreat:
The Seabatical weekend was far and above more than I ever expected. Everyone was so passionate and caring. The volunteers worked hard, day and night to help those of us who are grieving mothers. They walked us through steps that would help us cope. They gave us new unexpected gifts every day. When we finished the weekend all of us felt so much better, just to be able to be with other mothers and to know that even those who had not lost a child still had a genuine compassion for our losses…… Mari S.
God did some work on me this weekend! I felt so close to God and Blain! I am so thankful for Seabatical of Hope, Grief Retreat for Mother’s. What a blessing it was to hear testimonies, devotions and such beautiful music and unbelievable views of the beach. My broken heart healed a little bit more over these last 3 days and I am so excited to see what God has in store for my life with my amazing husband and beautiful girls…… Wyndi P.
My dear Bubba, my son I know you know I am at a retreat for Mothers who have lost children. I am honoring your life! They made me this beautiful gift that lights up and shines so bright with a picture of you. You can feel the presence of God in the room. He is touching all of us mothers in a way no one else could. Everyone here is so genuinely caring, this staff of women are filled with excellence, compassion and love…… Patsy L.
